Modellizzazione dell’attività neurale nella corteccia cerebrale

This is a copy of my Bachelor Thesis in the course of Physics in the academic year 2021/2022.
The results showcase a computational model of neural activity in the cerebral cortex, based on a network of synthetic neurons. Varying the threshold of activation of the neurons, we observe the emergence of critical phenomena in the overall neural activity. We test how the correlation with fMRI BOLD signals varies with the threshold, finding a maximum close to the critical point and with a synthetic addition of new links in the interhemispheric connectivity.
